We are so pleased to have you at our Clubhouse session every week. Around 50 of you joined the session last Tuesday!

This time, we received many interesting and practical questions, beyond when SEL will be listed and why some of you haven’t received your Airdrop yet. You can read the questions and answers below. We hope these will help to answer many of your concerns as well.

How can we educate more students about Blockchain?

If you are a teacher, the first thing to do is to educate yourself. The best way to learn anything is to put a little money you can lose. Then, you need to stay focused on the learning, especially on the technology, not the money you will earn or lose.

If you are a business/economic teacher, then educate yourself about the economy of Blockchain/Token. Try to do some thought experiments. It could be a simple ledger on Google spreadsheet, where the record changes would be notified to everyone on the file.

Someday, Selendra will have an open application for SEL tokens for educational purposes. You can use SEL to teach about Blockchain and educate your students about token economy in which the tokens have real utility value. This application will be open to everyone, not just Cambodians.

As a young developer, how can we participate and benefit from the network and help improve the community?

To learn about Selendra, there are two places available; Selendra on Github and docs.selendra.org, for developers. Although, developers on Selendra most of the time don’t need to learn much about building a Blockchain, and just need to think of an application with business logic for their users and build it. Connecting and utilizing Selendra will be almost as easy as working with APIs on a normal web development.

You can always reach out to our team via the community @SelendraOrg and present your challenges. We will help you as much as we can.

Though, at this point our team is still small, they might be slow to respond. However, we look for developers with ideas to build several first-use cases of the network, including the testnet network.

How can businesses like us benefit from the network? When to start?

Blockchain is the best tool to tokenize a business or asset of a business as well as its record data. The best way to start is to think about what aspect of your business you want to be tokenized? Then, learn how to connect your current application to a blockchain via smart contracts.

If you want to discuss more, our team will be very happy to help you and go through the process together. There are currently a few potential projects from investment to company stock options that will be running on Selendra or Bitriel.

What differentiates Selendra from other networks?

Many Blockchains are a clone of another. Selendra uses a framework called Substrate to build its network. Although most features are plug and play, we also design some additional features for this experiment such as fix on low transaction fees and used methods such as shard to split up and speed up transactions, open for parallel chains to connect and support each other as well as connecting to other existing public networks via bridge.

We believe the industry is still at its beginning. There will be many changes and there will be new better and faster Blockchain. But, there won’t be any one Blockchains to rule them all. They will have to work together to create a full open network of Blockchains, in order to serve the mass global adoption.

What value does Selendra create for Cambodia specifically in the year to come?

Not only for Cambodia. Selendra is designed to be border less and permissionless digitally. So anyone, any group or any nation could capture the future value of Selendra by building applications early on the network to create a special place for their users or issue their own tokens, beyond buying/selling of the tokens.

Having said that, if Cambodia population holds a certain % of SEL, maybe 5 years from now, they could use those tokens in ways that are unimaginable now.

Shortly, we do not want to sound promotional, as our goal is about education. And we are always grateful for your support and the community in motivating and educating each other about the Blockchain and tokenization.

We look forward to your appearance in our next session, every Tuesday at 8 pm (GMT+7).
